- Develop and deliver mechanical equipment designs and layouts using AutoCAD 2023 and Inventor 2023, ensuring compliance with Corning drafting standards.
- Produce and maintain detailed drawing packages, build packages, machine part lists, illustrations, and equipment specifications for production systems.
- Assemble comprehensive machine design packages by reviewing and updating existing packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Redesign mechanical components to reduce installation costs, resolve equipment interferences, and correct design deficiencies.
- Review, redline, and oversee updates to installation documentation and drawings, collaborating with drafting teams to resolve design issues efficiently.
- Execute design changes to address equipment or process challenges, ensuring all designs meet functional and performance requirements.
- Perform elementary design calculations (e.g., statics, hydraulics, power transmission) to support both new designs and modifications of existing systems.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and project managers to ensure designs meet project goals and customer expectations.
- Provide detailed sketches and marked-up drawings to address evolving project needs.
- A minimum of 3 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2023, Inventor 2023, and related CAD software tools.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical drive trains, electrical and pneumatic actuators, and system integration.
- Expertise in preparing complete drawing packages, from assembly to detailed drawings, for industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and experience interpreting pneumatic and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including machining and fabrication, to ensure efficient and practical designs.
- Associate's degree (AAS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
