A Medical Assistant supports physicians and other healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. This role combines clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the efficient operation of a medical facility.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Duties:Prepare patients for examinations and proceduresTake and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration)Collect and prepare laboratory specimensPerform basic laboratory testsAdminister medications as directed by a physicianAssist with minor proceduresMaintain exam room cleanliness and restock suppliesAdministrative Duties:Schedule appointments and manage patient recordsGreet and check in patientsAnswer phone calls and respond to patient inquiriesComplete insurance forms and handle billingUpdate patient medical histories and input data into electronic health records (EHR)Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferredCertification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) often preferred or requiredBasic life support (BLS) certification may be requiredFamiliarity with EHR systems and medical terminologySkills:Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and ability to multitaskKnowledge of clinical procedures and medical office protocolsCompassionate and patient-centered mindset
