- To drive the need for outstanding teaching, learning and assessment by carrying out OTLAs, supporting improvements with development plans and training
- Work with Curriculum Specialists on the content design to ensure that where appropriate awarding body requirements are being met and where necessary organize approvals
- Work with Curriculum Specialists on the content design to ensure that where appropriate EPA organisation requirements are being met
- To ensure that Coaches and Trainers follow the appropriate assessment guidance for the qualifications being delivered - tested through verification and observation
- Conduct internal verification in line with strategy and sample candidate evidence to verify assessment decisions adhering to the Centre Strategy and undertake regular sampling assessment activities, methods and records to monitor the consistency of assessment decisions as specified by qualification documentation
- Maintain, evolve and manage a risk based approach to sampling that is based on the full KPIs of the team and the full performance of the department and individual Coach or Trainer
- To ensure that testing requirements are adhered to
- Where necessary provide invigilation support and mock end point assessment
- Provide timely reports on your activity around first time pass rates, timely achievement, deferral of work etc
- To ensure that all learners' achievement records and centre documentation are completed in accordance with requirements for AOs and EPAOs.
- Organise, prepare, deliver regular, effective standardisation meetings with Coaches and Trainers that drive improvements in the quality of delivery, programme design and teaching/learning methodologies
- Ensure that Coaches and Trainers are maintaining their occupational CPD and that that competency is recorded, stored and available for inspection. Drive the need for continual CPD and influence the training agenda for the department, delivering direct sessions where appropriate
- Support the Operational Delivery Teams in performance management, celebrating successes and raising concerns where necessary. In particular feeding into one to ones in person or with data on performance.
- Maintain success rate and pass rate data for the qualifications/programmes that you are responsible for monitoring
- To ensure that the centre is current regarding changes to Awarding Body policy or procedures and that any necessary changes are implemented. In addition supporting the division to be up to date with occupational and industry developments
- Act as the knowledge expert for those programmes/qualifications being monitored providing the whole department with updates, trends, developments within the sector
- Ensure that Coaches and Trainers are utilizing the e-portfolio solutions (supporting where necessary) and that sampling plans are up to date
- Support the Quality and Curriculum Manager with centre approval, EPA approval visits and verification visits
- Act as a support role for Ofsted inspection
- Assessor and teaching qualifications - TAQA, Level 3 Award in Education & Training, PTTLS, Cert Ed, PGCE, City and Guilds 9285 or 730 or equivalent;
- Have a minimum of GCSE Grade C for Maths and English or equivalent;
- Level 2 Qualification in Mathematics or English
- Experience within an Assessor role and IV/IQA
- Experience of working with and preparing leavers for End Point Assessment
- Experience of working with unemployed programmes and within the Apprenticeship sector with new standards
- Experience of supporting learners at all levels from entry to level 3
- Experience of centre co-ordination, OFSTED inspections and working to measurable targets and deadlines
- Relevant and current Occupational experience of working within the industry relevant to qualifications and standards being offered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to a wide range of communication and learning styles.
- Ability to plan and organise workload, and undertake multiple tasks simultaneously to meet required targets and deadlines.
- Fast, accurate computer skills including solid knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Desirable to have worked with LMS or portfolio systems Independent and self motivated with the ability and initiative to take ownership and accountability for achieving departmental goals.
