Position Summary: Jackson, LA
Full-time Litigation Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing support services including research, document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; client file review, and assistance and support with discovery and trial preparation.

  • Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings and motions, affidavits, requests for production and interrogatories; electronic filing motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures, all under the supervision of attorneys.
  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide oral and written analysis to attorneys.
  • Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements.
  • Identify, prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, trial and deposition exhibits, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which will include attending trials, depositions, and hearings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, and other related software.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate required.
  • Experience with Relativity and Trial Director or equivalent programs preferred.
  • Some related experience preferred, willing to train.
