Want to learn more?ResponsibilitiesThe Team Leader of Business Intelligence (BI) will be a key resource on the Enterprise Analytics team, responsible for their assigned program/area (e.g., Clinical/Business Analytics, CMS Quality Reporting).Leads cross-functional teams, independently manages complex projects, works closely with stakeholders to identify data needs, assesses and identifies data sources, and extracts and manipulates data using a variety of reporting and analytical tools to present information in a meaningful and actionable way. The Team Leader will design and develop visualizations, interactive dashboards, and other displays of information to communicate our performance at the program level to various governance and steering committees. The Team Leader will have responsibility as delegated by the Director of Analytics to help create governance structures and lead stakeholders through implementation of new analytical tools/measures.For Clinical/Business Analytics: The Team Leader serves as the enterprise subject matter expert and provides expertise and technical leadership in designing, delivering, and maintaining complex business intelligence and data analytics solutions.For CMS Quality Reporting: The Team Leader serves as the enterprise subject matter expert on federal government quality measures, including but not limited to: CMS Stars, Value Based Purchasing, Inpatient Quality Reporting, Outpatient Quality Reporting, Hospital Acquired Conditions Reduction Program, and Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program. This includes other external quality ratings that derive, in whole or in part, from the federal quality measurement programs (e.g., US News & World Report, Leapfrog, etc.).Accountabilities1. Acts as a SME in healthcare analytics and/or relevant regulations and legislations around hospital mandated reporting on quality and regulatory metrics to support facility and system-level programs. Supports other quality departments to ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and performance criteria as laid out by CMS quality programs2. Monitors for updates to the IPPS and OPPS and communicates new measure requirements to appropriate stakeholders.3. Leads teams to design the appropriate data capture and reporting solutions for newly mandated federal quality measures.4. Leads the design and development of effective automated reports, scorecards and dashboards using various BI tools, such as Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, Crystal Reports, and other statistical tools that provide enhanced insight and improve organizational decision making.5. Acts as a liaison between business and technical teams to facilitate business requirements sessions in support of federal quality measurement programs. Delivers analysis findings often in the form of live demos or slides, but also in emails and verbally via committee meetings, staff meetings, and working sessions.6. Collaborates effectively with Informatics to modify clinician workflow as necessary to ensure appropriate clinical and regulatory data capture within the EHR for regulatory reporting.7. Demonstrates expertise in multiple functional and/or technical domains and develops some cross-functional knowledge and skill outside scope of area of responsibility.8. Adheres to policies/guidelines for project management, time management, and supporting documentation.9. Performs data quality and profiling activities for own and peer staff’s deliverables, ensuring that best practices are followed and information delivered from BI solutions is reliable and of consistently high quality. Leads and guides peers regarding the adoption of best practices and quality assurance.10. Leads cross-functional teams, influencing people through leadership, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to produce results, gain support and tactfully manage complex relationships across the organization.11. Assigns, coordinates and reviews the work of peers, work methods, procedures, work flow and standards for quality and quantity of work.12. Independently manages complex analytics projects of varying scope or length through creation of project plans, work schedules, project estimates, stakeholder communication and team coordination.13. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation
  • Master's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field required
  • Bachelor's Degree in the above-mentioned fields with an additional 2 years related hands-on experience may be substituted for the Master's Degree
Experience
  • 7 years of experience in Business/Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Healthcare Analytics/Quality, Clinical/Operational decision support or related field required
  • 4 years of regulatory reporting in the inpatient setting (if assigned to CMS Quality Reporting) required
  • Experience with Epic reporting is highly preferred
  • Experience with industry-leading tools for work effort and knowledge management, such as JIRA, Confluence, Workfront, etc. preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • TDS - Tableau Desktop Specialist Certification preferred
  • TDCA - Tableau Desktop Certified Associate Certification preferred
  • TCDA - Tableau Certified Data Analyst Certification preferred
  • CPHQ - Certified Professional Healthcare Quality preferred
  • PMP - Project Management Professional Certification preferred
  • CSM - Certified Scrum Master preferred
