We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team as a Mobile Unit Specialist and support the launch of our new Mobile Mammography Unit! This is a vital expansion of our Women’s Health services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both clinical and community outreach settings and is passionate about increasing access to preventive care in underserved areas.This new service line is part of YVFWC’s commitment to whole-person, community-based care. By bringing mammography directly to rural and underserved areas, we are removing barriers to early detection and empowering women across the Yakima Valley to take charge of their health.About YVFWC:We've transformed into a leading community health center in the Pacific Northwest with 40+ clinics across Washington and Oregon. We offer a wide range of services such as medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, nutritional counseling, autism screening, and behavioral health. Our holistic model also extends assistance to shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics.What You’ll Do:Drive and maintain the mobile unit, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment sterilization per guidelines.Support patient care by registering, rooming, and preparing patients for exams, while promoting comfort and privacy.Manage mobile unit logistics, including maintenance of the garage and storage area, and ensure equipment security.Facilitate smooth patient flow by coordinating schedules, resolving issues, and supporting outreach events and health fairs.Educate patients on cancer screenings, contributing to community health awareness.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDCompletion of a formal training program that includes:At least 720 hours of medical assistant training,Including a minimum of 160 hours of hands-on clinical externship,From a school accredited by CAAHEP or ABHESAt least 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant is requiredExperience operating and maintaining a recreation vehicle is preferredBasic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hireWA state MA-C credential within 180 daysOther Requirements:Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required at a level 10Valid Driver’s License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage is required at time of hireClass A or B Washington State Commercial Driver’s License is required within 90 days of hirePre-employment physical assessmentPre-employment drug screenOur Mission Statement“Together we transform our communities through compassionate, individualized care, eliminating barriers to health and well-being.”Our mission celebrates inclusivity.
