Employ mechanical engineering and structures proficiencies for the experimental investigation and development of optical communications and imaging systems and technologies. Apply standard and advanced hardware design methods for the investigation and solution of complex technical problems in prototyping. Support both laboratory and field experimentation and data exploitation during testing and development. Collaborate with engineers and physicists to explore optimal solutions for a variety of problems in optical technology and systems development.
-2 years of experience with mechanical engineering
-Experience with design, assembly, execution, and analysis of experimental hardware tests and results
-Experience with CAD tools for custom hardware design and fabrication for experimentation, prototyping, testing, and fielding
-Ability to interface and work effectively with various groups in a diverse and rapid prototyping environment
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree
-Experience with optical systems’ developmental experimentation preferred
-Experience with basic communication theory
-Experience with optical communication and imaging systems
-Experience with rapid prototyping and field testing
-TS/SCI clearance preferred
