
Sr. Revenue Recognition Implementation Consultant

- Lead discussions with finance and accounting teams to gather business requirements for revenue recognition and ASC 606 compliance.
- Interpret and document clients’ revenue policies and processes, recommending best practices for automation.
- Translate accounting requirements into functional system designs, including revenue schedules, rules, and allocation methods.
- Document current and future-state revenue recognition process flows.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including functional specifications, data flow diagrams, and accounting process maps.
- Configure BillingPlatform’s revenue recognition module, including event triggers, rules, schedules, and reporting.
- Coordinate and execute testing cycles, validating calculations and schedules against accounting policies.
- Collaborate with client ERP/GL teams to design and validate integrations for journal entries, revenue schedules, and contract data.
- Prepare and execute data migration activities, including contract and performance obligation data.
- Provide training to client accounting and finance staff on system functionality and compliance impacts.
- Partner with project managers to define and manage project scope, tasks, and deliverables.
- Maintain a working knowledge of evolving revenue recognition standards and advise clients on impacts.
- Work effectively with onshore and offshore configuration teams to deliver high-quality implementations.
- CPA strongly preferred (active license or equivalent accounting designation).
- 6–8+ years of experience in accounting, finance systems implementation in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Hands-on experience implementing revenue recognition systems (e.g., BillingPlatform, NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management, SAP RAR, Oracle Revenue Management Cloud).
- Deep understanding of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 and related accounting treatments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to reconcile system output to accounting requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and finance/accounting audiences.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and revenue recognition subledgers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Motivated and independent with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
