- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred, minimum of 5+ years of safety manager experience in industrial construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with various safety councils (i.e. HASC, ISTC)
- Knowledge of EOI and EMR.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team and direct reports.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret client safety requirements, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers, personnel, and the public.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers to define safety requirements for scope of work to be performed.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Develops, plans, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Verifies required personnel are and maintain compliance within DISA, ISNet, AVETTA, EVITA systems.
- Daily communication and work with Field Service Foreman (on-site Safety leaders) to ensure hazard identification is on-going, daily safety tailboard meetings are effective and continue to promote/foster a safe work culture.
- Schedules personnel training and testing to meet IAFD and customer requirements to perform work.
- Plans and implements training for employees on work site safety practices.
- Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
- Advises Managers and CEO on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
- Maintains safety files, records and databases.
- Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Conduct post-accident and incident investigations, prepares report identifying accident causes and hazards, works with insurance providers and updates company personnel and senior management.
- Plans, coordinates, and conducts training.
- Responsible for the development, evaluation, maintaining, and upgrading of safety programs.
- Creates and maintains federal safety reports, workers comp.
- Maintain safety and DOT compliance of company fleet vehicle drivers.
- Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
- Work with project management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues on project sites.
- Inspects machinery and facilities on a regular basis to ensure they are in proper working order and no safety hazards are endangering employees.
- Must be willing to travel when required to support Field Service and Customer.
- Daily office will require attendance in Cleveland TX.
- Must be available and willing to work weekends and holidays as necessary to meet business needs.
- Must maintain cell phone to be available should a safety emergency occur.
