
Lab Operations Coordinator

- Maintain organization and cleanliness of shared laboratory spaces.
- Coordinate instrument servicing, consumable supplies, and reagent availability for a team of 25-30 scientists.
- Manage the shipping and receiving of laboratory samples.
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and liaise with external vendors and service providers.
- Equipment includes centrifuges, automated liquid handlers, purification systems, thermocyclers, PCR and qPCR systems.
- Support upkeep of tissue culture suites, including:
- Biosafety cabinet (BSC) maintenance
- Liquid waste disposal
- Stocking and cleaning of hoods and water baths
- Monitor inventory levels of reagents and consumables; conduct regular audits to avoid shortages or excess.
- Inventory includes plastics, molecular biology assay kits (e.g., qPCR), and tissue culture materials.
- Collaborate with purchasing and procurement teams to forecast inventory needs and manage reorder points for high-use items.
- Promote and uphold health and safety standards; assist with general lab cleanup and maintenance of high-traffic areas such as fume hoods.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related field.
- 3-4 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in a fast-paced research or clinical environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management and procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data tracking and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with routine maintenance of:
- ThermoFisher QuantStudio 7 Pro
- Fisher centrifuges (various sizes)
- KingFisher sample purification systems
- Demonstrated experience in stock management, inventory forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Background or interest in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, RNA handling, and qPCR techniques.
- Familiarity with maintenance of:
- BioRad thermal cyclers
- Applied Biosystems ProFlex PCR system
- Integra Viaflow and Mini96 pipetting systems
- Experience with electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) documentation.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (overtime as needed)
- Location: On-site at our client's facility in Boston, MA

- Hourly Wage: $35.00 - $40.00 (based on education and relevant experience)
- Estimated Annual Salary: $72,800 - $83,200
