Job Description:HEB Industrial Properties is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architect to join our team as a Facility Designer. This role is focused on supporting HEB’s supply chain, overseeing the design and development of facilities such as distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, transportation support facilities, and other administrative spaces. The successful candidate will act as the primary project manager, guiding projects from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives, design guidelines, and operational requirements. - a Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial firm environment.
-Architectural Project management experience.What is the work?Project Initiation & Business Case Development:- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., supply chain operations, finance, and leadership) to identify project requirements and objectives.- Support business case development for new or renovation supply chain facilities, including cost estimates, ROI analysis, and operational impact assessments.- Translate user needs into actionable design requirements to support efficient supply chain operations.Design and Project Management:- Manage third-party architectural, engineering, and construction teams through all project phases, including 30%, 60%, and 90% design milestones.- Ensure designs adhere to HEB’s design guidelines, specifications, and sustainability standards.- Review and approve architectural and engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.- Coordinate with internal teams to align designs with supply chain processes, such as inventory management, transportation logistics, and automation integration. You will act as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and external vendors, fostering clear communication and collaboration.- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify construction aligns with approved plans and company standards.- Identify and mitigate risks, resolving issues that may impact project scope, schedule, or budget.- Provide regular updates to leadership on project progress, risks, and milestones.Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Facility Designer?
Required Proficiencies:
- Strong knowledge of building systems and their coordination / integration (structural, architectural, MEPR), building codes, environmental regulations, handicap accessibility codes, sanitation concerns / regulations, and direct application of such
- Strong knowledge of the dynamics / application of site and landscape design, appropriate materials use and methods of construction, and specifications and criteria development
- Proficiency in graphic design and the use of color, form, scale, and texture
- Computer application / software skills, including MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam.
- Project management skills
- High Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects
- Ability to use 2D and 3D presentation graphics
