Position Title: Federal Work Study – Assistant Bike Shack Manager# of Positions to Fill: 1Department/Program: Sustainability 52000Work Location Authorization: 100% On-SiteCampus Location: Arapahoe CampusReports to: Director, MCICFLSA Classification: Non-Exempt/HourlyFTE: 25% (10 hrs/week)Compensation: $18.00 - $18.00 per hourApplication Deadline: 7/15 or until filledJob SummaryThe Bike Shack Assistant Manager is responsible for providing customer service in the bike shack. In addition, the Bike Shack Assistant Manager designs and executes education and outreach into the larger community. This position also performs bicycle maintenance and repair, assisting in documenting all services performed, and facilitates cleaning and maintaining bike shack workspace. The Bike Shack Assistant Manager assists in appointment scheduling and teaching community members how to fix bicycles.Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Foster a positive, professional team environment.
  • Respond promptly and respectfully to Bike Shack Intake form requests.
  • Facilitate bicycle maintenance and repair for community members.
  • Teach bike mechanics and share cycling resources with the Naropa community.
  • Document all services according to Bike Shack procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Promote the Bike Shack by creating and distributing educational flyers.
  • Set up, monitor, and dismantle the Bike Shack table at community events.
  • Assist with budgeting, and track sales, purchases, and donations.
  • Utilize Community Cycles membership for training and connect their services to the community.
  • Support purchasing for external partners and Naropa departments.
  • Collaborate with the Regeneration Specialist to organize bike-related events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Has previously attended or is able to attend Basic Bicycle Mechanics at Community Cycles (Naropa partner) on the timeframe set by the Sustainability Director.
  • Familiar with and knows bikes, and familiar with bicycle parts/functions and bicycle maintenance tools.
  • Problem solving skills, especially mechanical issues.
  • Works will in a team, or alone; willing to learn and teach others.
  • Comfortable with computer usage and willing to learn new processes/programs.
