What You Can ExpectAs the Project Management Office (PMO) Leader, based in Houston, TX, you will lead and manage a team dedicated to supporting the delivery of battery energy storage projects. Within the Project Delivery team, your office serves as the central hub for ensuring process and deliverable consistency across all projects. You will oversee a project support staff focused on enhancing efficiency, upholding standards, implementing essential tools, and fostering continuous improvement. Your role is an integral component of our Project Delivery organization, charged with promoting best practices, standardizing tools, facilitating support resources, and disseminating lessons learned to boost productivity and elevate the quality of our projects.
  • Reporting to the Vice President, Project Delivery, your primary duties encompass:
  • Leads a core project support staff consisting of the project software administrator (Procore), scheduling experts, analysts and/or assistant project managers
  • Manages the day-to-day activities and workload of the PMO staff in support of battery energy storage projects and the Project Delivery team's objectives
  • Coordinates and liaises with ENGIE's and the Business Unit's Industrial Project Oversight, Investment Oversight, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, and other functional teams
  • Hires, trains, and develops the PMO staff; develops staffing plans to support the PMO and Project Delivery team objectives
  • Designs and manages a rotational training program to support battery energy storage projects and project manager/staff development within the business unit
  • Develops and improves, with input from the greater Project Delivery and business unit teams, process to support “industrialization” of project delivery and management, including development and maintenance of the associated process diagrams
  • Develops, implements, and monitors critical Project Delivery KPIs using dashboards and analysis of data maintained in our management information systems including Procore, Coups, and SAP
  • Develops, maintains, and improves template documents used to manage projects such as Project Management Plans, Risk Registers, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Project Schedules, WBS structures, and periodic reports with the support of ENGIE group policies, procedures, guidance, and existing templates
  • Supports ENGIE's One Safety Culture by ensuring all ENGIE safety requirements are properly included in project template documents and processes; leads and exhibits a high level of safety awareness and concern
  • Carries out other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or related technical discipline required
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in physical/construction project management
  • Experience with hydrogen production by electrolysis, natural gas processing, and/or other chemical process related projects
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage and lead multi-discipline teams
  • The ability to be flexible and adjust to changing business and project conditions, develop and present alternative solutions to problems, and recommend a course of action to achieve Project Delivery and PMO objectives
  • A solid competency in project management and/or project controls
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Project, and Procore, demonstrating an excellent command of these tools for effective project management
  • An ability to exhibit flexibility which may require late night and/or weekend attention and/or short notice travel to address project related issues

  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 35% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips

CompensationSalary Range: $146,300 - $224,135 USD annuallyThis represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
