Job Title: Distribution DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Distribution Designer to perform detailed design work, including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer.Responsibilities
  • Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.
  • Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards covering the assigned work.
  • Participate in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
  • Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
Essential Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of practices and procedures in areas such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, and CADD.
  • Drafting, field engineering, GIS, distribution engineering, civil engineering, CAD, substation design, transmission design, mechanical design, surveying, protective relaying, instrumentation controls.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or equivalent in a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required without a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required for Distribution Designer II without a degree.
  • Minimum of one year of satisfactory experience as a Designer I (Associate Designer).
Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an office environment with the opportunity for flexible hours once trained. There is also an option to work from home for two days a week, depending on discretion and training completion.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ceredo, West Virginia.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
