Fires Training Specialist - Secret clearance required

- The employee will work as a member of a team to develop fires training scenarios based on, at a minimum, written training guidance, the training unit Commander’s training objectives, and Combined Arms Training Strategy tasks.
- The employee will replicate and role play entities as required to facilitate Commander's training objectives.
- The employee may travel to respective training unit locations in support of distributed exercises as required.
- The employee will be taught how to use virtual simulation tools and programs to accurately replicate military aircraft, friendly troops, enemy troops, and terrain. Simulation suites will include Virtual Battle Space-3 (VBS-3) and Virtual Battle Space-4 (VBS-4). As the employee gains proficiency in using these state-of-the-art simulation tools, he or she will be able to add additional realism to the training iterations for participating units and personnel.
- The employee shall be familiar with and adhere to current Army and Joint doctrine and training strategies throughout the exercise development Life Cycle.
- Education: Associate's Degree. Five years’ military experience may substitute for academic degree.
- Required Experience: Two years’ experience as a Special Operations Forces or Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) as a member of a Tactical Air Controller Party (TACP)
- Required Technical Skills: Joint Terminal Attack Controller Qualification Course or Special Operations Terminal Attack Combat Controller (SOTACC) Course certification
- Security Clearance Level: Secret Security clearance
- Required Skills and Abilities:
- Experience as an instructor may substitute for operational experience
- Military Instructor Training Course or civilian
- Have intimate knowledge of emergency close air support procedures, artillery, and mortar call for fire procedures. Knowledge of exercise design concepts and experience providing training using virtual training simulation.
- Preferred Skills:
- Instructor experience using virtual simulations desired
- Knowledge of Joint Fire Support Executive Steering Committee Army Publication (JFS ESC AP) TAC MOA, USSOCOM M350-5, USASOC Sup 1, 1st SFC(A) 350-1, Appendix M (JTAC SOP), SF Group and local range procedures during pre-mission, mission and post mission phases of training operations.
