A client in the software consulting industry, located in Tempe, AZ, is currently looking for a Technical Proposal Writer to add to their growing team. This is a high-impact role focused on crafting compelling, strategic responses to public sector RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, primarily at the state government level. As a core member of the sales team, you’ll work closely with leadership, sales, delivery and product stakeholders to articulate the value of complex technical solutions in a clear, persuasive, and client-centered way.This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, storytelling, and strategy. Day to day, you’ll be the primary writer and coordinator of proposal responses, responsible for synthesizing technical details into engaging narratives that speak to customer goals. You’ll also leverage AI tools to iterate faster and improve output quality – not as a builder or engineer but as a power user. You’ll be expected to continually refine proposal content, manage and update a reusable content library, ad infuse win themes and brand voice throughout every submission. The role demands a keen eye for detail, a solid grasp of technical concepts (cloud, security, databases, etc.) and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.Contract Duration: 6-12 monthsRequired Skills & Experience
  • Ability to take ownership of AI-assisted writing workflows and become the teams go-to expert for leveraging AI tools effectively
  • Comfortability using AI in a user capacity – no programming or technical AI development experience required
  • Demonstrated success in writing compelling, strategic proposals
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn technical details into clear, persuasive content
  • Technically curious and capable of understanding tools like relational databases, cloud platforms, or security frameworks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, with solid PowerPoint skills for supporting visuals and presentations
  • Able to juggle competing deadlines, stay organized under pressure, and respond quickly to shifting priorities
  • Familiar with government procurement processes including SOWs, SLAs and risk language GCAD, GWAT, GWEB, GPEN, GCPN, or GXPN
