Discussion course component is taught in a campus classroom. Clinical course component is taught off campus.   • Be a registered nurse with a minimum of two years of nursing experience.
  • Have one year of experience as a nurse in one or both of the following areas: i) Teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program; or ii) Providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or for chronically ill adults.
  • Each instructor shall also provide documentation of completion of a Department-approved specialized workshop, course, seminar or other approved training for instruction in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias equivalent to 4 CEUs.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Essential Duties:Deliver Instruction1. Conduct assigned classes and/or labs2. Prepare lessons3. Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information)4. Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheetsIf a lab is involved:5. Prepare labs6. Enforce lab safety proceduresEvaluate Student Progress1. Keep accurate record of student performance2. Provide students with timely feedbackProvide Student Assistance1. Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication2. Refer students to student support services3.
