Job SummaryUnder the direction of a Pharmacist, provides technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies. Works with multiple medication automation systems. Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas. Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members. Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, inventory management).***$3,500 Sign-On Bonus***Essential Functions
  • Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
  • Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
  • Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
  • Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred Associate's Degree
  • Hospital experience Preferred
  • LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
  • LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required And
  • LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
  • CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
  • We have the following schedules available:
  • Rotating 1st/2nd Shift
  • Mid-Shift
  • Straight 2nd Shift
  • Night Shift (7 Days On 7 Days Off)
  • We usually have positions at Blodgett, Butterworth, Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, and in Medication History, besides other positions in Ambulatory, Medication Care Coordination, Specialty, Education, Inventory, Receiving, Home Infusion, Regional Hospitals, etc.
  • Most positions are On-Site, but we have some Flexible Virtual or Remote positions requiring residence in State of Michigan
  • We try to pay all Sign-On Bonuses on 1st or 2nd Paycheck
  • We also offer a Referral Bonus
