- Manage and lead a team of maintenance technicians, including training, performance evaluation, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement schedules, work plans, and procedures to optimize maintenance activities.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for all machinery, equipment, and systems used in the seafood manufacturing process.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Coordinate and oversee facility maintenance, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure the availability of required parts while optimizing costs.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
- Generate regular reports on maintenance metrics, equipment performance, and departmental achievements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Several years of experience in maintenance management, preferably within the food manufacturing
- Strong technical knowledge of seafood processing equipment, production lines, and facility systems.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in food manufacturing.
- Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
