- Supervise daily work of staff, train subordinates on applicable policies and procedures.
- Develop acceptable standards of casework and supervise the maintenance of such standards.
- Provide supervision of employees to ensure uniform application of all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Evaluate effectiveness of social service programs.
- Coordinate work with volunteer organizations and other public agencies.
- Counsel and guide subordinates in the development of individual or group programs for the rehabilitation of clients.
- Knowledge of functions, practices and regulations in social services.
- Knowledge of social casework methods and principles.
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of community and family social, economic, and health problems.
- Knowledge of structure, functions, relationships, and practices of organizations as related to individual and family problems.
- Ability to supervise paraprofessional and professional staff and to communicate with other public and private agencies.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
