Bentley Community Schools is a thriving K-12 school district located in the City of Burton, Michigan. We serve approximately 700 students across three schools and approximately 250 students in 9th-12th grades, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Girls Varsity Bowling Coach for the upcoming fall season.JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will be a leader who can not only teach the fundamentals of the game, but also instill in our student-athletes a strong work ethic, sportsmanship, and a commitment to academic excellence.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Motivate, guide and mentor student-athletes
  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents and student-athletes
  • Model and expect good sportsmanship behavior towards players, official’s, colleagues, parents, and spectators
  • Instruct players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport
  • Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury
  • Organize and direct practice
  • Follow policies and procedures set forth by MHSAA, the school district, and the athletic director
  • Maintain current inventory of equipment
  • Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students
  • Submit a list of award winners to the athletic director at the end of the season
  • Participate in special activities such as parent’s night, banquets, pep assemblies, etc.
  • Maintain up-to-date rosters, eligibility information, emergency data, and other related records
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Consistently display professional demeanor
  • Previous coaching experience preferred (playing experience a plus)
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively with student-athletes
  • Team player with a commitment to building a successful program
  • CPR/First Aid certification required

  • Ability to withstand long hours standing, walking, and bending during practices and games
  • Demonstrate agility and movement sufficient to perform drills and provide instruction on the court
  • Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively motivate and instruct players
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong time management skills
  • Commitment to player safety and well-being
  • Positive attitude and a passion for coaching young athletes
