Join us on our journey of growth and success!We're currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Inspector (Aviation) located in Portland, OR.Overview:
Experience in general civil construction activities such as in asphalt, concrete, and underground utilities (storm and sewer pipe). This position requires inspection of new and remodeled installations for construction projects. Will ensure compliance with national, state and city codes to aid in the improvement of transportation, industrial and support facilities.Required Education:
  • High School Diploma
Required Certifications/Licenses:
  • Valid state driver's license
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
  • Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC)
  • OSHA 10 General Safety Course
Required Qualifications:In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
  • Understand requirements for concrete, asphalt and underground utilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil & aviation construction practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of underground utilities, construction methods, storm & sewer pipe installation, site grading and concrete installation
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, be self-directed
  • Ability to read and understand plans, stationing, cross-sections, specifications, etc.
  • Ability to calculate volumes, distances, quantities as related to construction projects
  • Knowledge of industry standards for safe construction methodologies and practices
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unforeseen conditions aspects including safety, quality and change management practices
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when interacting with co-workers, contractors and others
  • Ability to obtain security badging
  • Ability to work alone and collaboratively as a team
  • Microsoft software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect installation, materials and layout of work
  • Communicate with client and contractors & other stakeholders to ensure contract requirements are being met
  • Record and maintain accurate records and information regarding inspections and installations
  • Stay in communication with contractors, engineers, architects and owners to ensure code compliance
  • Execute in-person inspection visits
  • Maintain record of daily work
Salary:
  • $42.50 per hour
Bonus Pay:
