Job Posting End Date 09-15-2025Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end dateJob SummaryInstall and maintain self-contained electric meters energized up to 240 volts in the shop and on customer premises.Job DescriptionPlease note this position is posted in a range from Meter Electrician C-A**The selected candidate will need to reside within 45 mins of the Teays Valley Service Center (2935 State Route 34, Winfield, WV 25213)Meter Electrician C:Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billingInstall, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters.Test singlephase, network, and polyphase self-contained meter for proper operation and accuracyProgram metersPerform Credit and Collections related order including disconnect and reconnect for non-paymentInvestigate irregular usageInvestigate energy diversionRepair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosuresOrder, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipmentInvestigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reportsPerform work from ladders and elevated platformsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education requirements are listed below:Associates Degree in electrical/electronic technology. Equivalent education and experience is limited to military training and work experience of technical/technician nature (such as aviation and nuclear instrumentation technician).Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:State Driver's LicenseOTHER REQUIREMENTS:Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this position including: classroom instruction; written examination; job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations. Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends. Work late shifts as needed. Work independently under semi-direct supervision in a safe-efficient, and productive manner Proficiently use computers and applications related to this position. Install and maintain external data recorders and associated equipment4.) Install and maintain pulse meters, isolation relays, and associated equipment5.) Test self-contained and transformer rated meters for proper operation and accuracy6.) Test instrument transformers for proper operation and accuracy7.) Investigate transformer rated service power quality problems, install event recorders and produce reports8.) Visually inspect distribution system capacitors, regulators, reclosers, Alternate Feed Switches, and Line Voltage Monitors9.) Disconnect and reconnect secondary services at the point of attachment10.) Replace meter sockets and enclosuresMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education requirements are listed below:Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology. Perform all duties of lower classifications as required2.) Install, maintain, and test intra-change, inter-change, and generating plant meters, instrument transformers, and associated equipment3.) Install, maintain, and test satellite, land line, ethernet, and other remote metering and associated equipment4.) Install, maintain and test loss compensated metering and associated equipment5.) Install, maintain, test, and operate distribution system capacitors, regulators, reclosers, Alternate Feed Switches, and Line Voltage Monitors6.) Install and maintain distribution grid control devices and automated metering and distribution grid network infrastructure7.) Disconnect and reconnect secondary and primary services at the pole or transformer and replace primary fuses where applicable8.) Perform a variety of special tests and inspections related to customer bill complaints, inquiries, and energy diversion investigations. Prepare related reports9.) Assist with and perform distribution studies including inspection of distribution equipment, circuits, analysis, and preparing reports.10.) Operate and perform work from aerial lift devices.11.) Develop and provide employee training.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education requirements are listed below: Associate’s degree in electrical/electronic technology.
