In addition, they are using their expertise in interdisciplinary research centers across the university.Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by supporting the construction of the new 3D-ICE system, the fabrication of the cell niche, as well as conducting and supporting related experiments. This will include focusing on in vivo studies (design and execution) and subsequent data analyses and working with other postdocs and technical personnel. You will also work on system assembly to create fully functional devices and hormone calibration studies in vitro and in vivo and such other tasks that are assigned to youResponsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting the construction of the new 3D-ICE system
  • Responsible for supporting the fabrication of the cell niche
  • Responsible for conducting and supporting related experiments
  • Responsible for performing in vivo studies (design and execution) and subsequent data analyses
  • Responsible for working with other postdocs and technical personnel to satisfy project milestones and goals
  • Responsible for system assembly to create fully functional devices and hormone calibration studies in vitro and in vivo
  • Responsible for building collaborations with other research groups within the project to collect responses from larger animal studies

  • PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Research and hands-on experiments, in vitro and in vivo biological experiments
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
