Currently, we are actively seeking an Environmental Construction Oversight Engineer to join our team.The Environmental Construction Oversight Engineer will have the opportunity to work for one of our esteemed clients located in New York City and surrounding areas. This candidate will have opportunities to get involved with project scheduling, estimating, change orders, and field oversight of exciting heavy civil construction.Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate project submittals/RFIs among design team.
  • Track progress of submittal reviews and maintain a submittal log.
  • Upload design responses to e-builder.
  • Attend project meetings and engage with CM/Design teams regarding design issues and critical path submittals.
  • Review environmental regulations and determine whether they are being applied properly to maintain environmental conservation.
  • Perform site assessments to determine environmental impact of construction activities.
  • Ensure technical compliance and administration of construction contracts.
  • Manage field staff.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and construction changes.
  • Resolve construction activity environmental disputes.
  • Develop periodic environmental investigation reports, provide information on construction progress, schedule status, cost/budget status, and environmental assurance activities.
  • Communicate with contractor or site supervisor regarding testing results and any failing tests or problems.
  • Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect deficiencies and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes.
  • Prepare daily field inspection reports that document project activities and data.
  • Conduct materials testing and analysis using provided tools and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or a related field.
  • 5 Years’ Experience in environmental construction projects.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Word/Blue Beam/Adobe/e-builder.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to interpret and/or willing to understand contract drawings/specifications.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work in the field and office environment.
