Overview:Reporting to the Director of Land Records or other assigned supervisor, performs research, drafting and related duties in a computerized mapping environment.Responsibilities:
  • Makes calculations, writes notices and descriptions of parcel changes.
  • Checks titles, plans and sketches.
  • Conducts research and retrieves documents from other City of Boston governmental departments and agencies.
  • Provides assistance to the public and other staff.
  • Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
  • At least two years professional experience dealing with land records and drafting or related field; appropriate educational substitutions may be accepted for one year of this experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Boston Real Estate Market conditions preferred.
  • Experience with computerized mapping applications such as ESRI (ARC GIS Pro) preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CAMA, GIS, Registry of Deeds, and Internet Research preferred.
  • Experience with land surveying, preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills preferred.
  • Ability to manage projects and serve as part of a team preferred.
  • Knowledge of mapping, mathematics and related disciplines preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and must be able to focus on details as required.
  • Must be able to lift 20lbs.
