- Evaluate current ECD and intern programs. Work with Seed Operations Leadership team to define programs and goals for the future. Provide regular updates to Leadership Team per progress of program goals - examples (development milestones, employee mobility, diversity goals, quality of our managers/mentors, etc.)
- Coordinate college recruiting program for college interns and ECD's utilizing network of local champions to serves as recruiting leaders.
- Network to find, attract, and hire diverse and outstanding Seed Operations talent. Partner with HR to recruit at relevant Universities, colleges, and other locations to find the best talent.
- Identify and recruit at new venues specifically to find diverse talent.
- Identify and utilize a network of local recruiting leaders to support your efforts.
- Partner with Seed Operations leaders to interview, hire, and place new candidates.
- Ensure the site/area where employee works has a clear project, area of responsibility, manager/mentor plan.
- Ensure employee onboarding is done with excellence.
- Coordinate and/or lead group and individual training and development with ECD's and interns.
- Responsible for the intern program and ECD program curriculum, ensuring all participants are developing and learning at appropriate pace.
- Work closely with the intern or ECD direct manager/mentor. Ensuring they are equipped and are developing, coaching the employee effectively and if needed are coaching/disciplining the employee as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Ag Business, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience with progressively more responsibility. Customer/Grower and Agronomy Experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of what makes an outstanding Seed Production Agronomist.
- Understanding of overall seed operations, grower relationships, our seed contract, our seed network, and the need to move talent around the network to develop them.
- Ability to work effectively cross functionally and across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to network effectively both internally and externally to find and attract top, diverse talent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent leadership skills; innovative thinking; solid information management skills
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment and coordinate activities, prioritize needs and manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel in US and CA frequently to our Seed Production Locations. Travel up to 25% of time.
