
Shop Finance Analyst

- Preparation of the month end financial close, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Develop and update cost tracking tools to analyze spending and forecast costs.
- Perform variance analysis on labor, materials, and overhead to identify cost trends and support performance reviews.
- Provide regular updates to Shop Management on expenses compared to forecasts to help manage spending.
- Assist the Shop Finance Manager with the Four-Year Plan and quarterly Board Forecasts by gathering data, building reports, and analyzing variances.
- Ensure accuracy of financial data across ERP and reporting systems; help identify issues and improve related processes.
- Support ad hoc analysis and financial deep dives as requested by Shop Management or corporate finance teams.
- Assist with continuous improvement efforts in financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with demonstrated ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling) and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Ability to manage and reconcile data from multiple sources and financial systems.
- Clear understanding of how to manage costs, analyze differences, and plan budgets and forecasts.
- Strong communication skills; able to present financial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Experience in operational finance, manufacturing, or shop environment.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Exposure to financial process improvements, change initiatives, or automation projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or general accounting.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization and cross-functional teams is a plus.
