We are seeking a Transmission Engineer, Energy and Utilities to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Transmission Engineer, Energy and Utilities, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever evolving project needs. This opportunity can be located in either our Chicago or Downers Grove offices and could have potential to be hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze and manage high-voltage transmission line projects, ensuring delivery of innovative solutions that meet client needs
- Lead the design, analysis and engineering of high-voltage transmission lines, ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and develop design documents, including plans, specifications and drawings
- Oversee the preparation of PLS-CADD models, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural and environmental engineers
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and deliver innovative solutions
- Manage project schedules, budgets and deliverables to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements and client-specific guidelines
- Identify and mitigate project risks while supporting scope changes and adjustments
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development opportunities
- Support the preparation of RFP responses and participate in business development activities
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in transmission engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD and MathCADD
- Transmission design project experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
- Have good to great organizational skills
- Advanced degree(s)
- EPC experience
- Distribution design project experience
