Serving customers in the semiconductor, R&D, defense, and medical markets, we are committed to technical excellence, operational discipline, and a culture of continuous improvement.General Summary:We are seeking an onsite experienced and driven Welding Supervisor to lead our high-performance welding team. This is a hands-on leadership role combining deep technical welding expertise with shop-floor team supervision responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of TIG and orbital welding in stainless steel fabrication, vacuum chamber assembly, and leak testing while driving quality and productivity, and welding team development.Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily welding operations, including workload scheduling, resource planning, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Perform hands-on welding (approximately 50 percent of time and up to 75% during team member absences) on complex or high-priority jobs, assisting team members and resolving technical challenges.
  • Oversee the fabrication of stainless-steel vacuum chambers and complex welded assemblies used in clean environments.
  • Provide technical guidance on TIG and orbital welding processes and support weld qualification/certification efforts.
  • Ensure leak testing procedures (e.g., helium leak detection) are performed accurately and documented.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production planning teams to ensure smooth job execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and enforce safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards within the welding area.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, annual performance reviews, and skills development plans.
  • Maintain accurate job travelers, weld records, inspection data, and other documentation.
Experience, Skills, & Education:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on welding experience, with a strong focus on TIG and orbital welding.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a working lead, supervisory, or management role.
  • Demonstrated, strong knowledge of welding techniques, blueprint reading, weld symbols, and GD&T.
  • Demonstrated experience in vacuum and cleanroom-compatible fabrication, including leak testing and stainless-steel assemblies.
  • Familiarity with AWS D17.1, or similar welding standards, plus certification to ASME section IX weld spec for SST welding.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working in a job shop or high-mix/low-volume environment is preferred.
