Job Title: Plating Team LeadJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plating Team Lead to oversee and coordinate daily operations in our plating department at our Power Solutions Group facility in Rolling Meadows. This role is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality plating processes while maintaining compliance with NADCAP and AS9100 standards and internal specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on plating experience, leadership capabilities, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute the daily production activities of the plating team, focusing 60% on team coordination and working with gold metal plating, and 40% on audits and documentation.
  • Ensure work is performed efficiently and in compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain process parameters for various plating operations such as electroplating, anodizing, and passivation.
  • Ensure all plating operations comply with NADCAP and other industry-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing for and participating in NADCAP audits, internal audits, and customer visits.
  • Train, mentor, and support plating team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Review work orders, process instructions, and job travelers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure product quality and consistency throughout the plating process.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure traceability of plated parts.
  • Identify process improvements and work collaboratively with engineering and quality teams to implement solutions.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed and promote a safe working environment.

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as Lab Tech in plating company or minimum 2 years of hands-on plating experience as Plating Tech in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

  • Strong understanding of plating techniques and surface finishing processes
