- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for BMH equipment, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and quality standards.
- Manage multiple projects focused on equipment retrofits, upgrades, and custom Engineer-to-Order solutions, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
- Apply advanced solid modeling and FEA techniques using Autodesk Inventor, improving engineering data precision and quality.
- Serve as a technical authority, driving design decisions to enhance equipment performance and supporting Field Service with design insights during breakdowns and critical repairs.
- Provide technical oversight and design guidance to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance during on-site support for breakdowns and repairs.
- Collaborate on projects across regions, including North America, Europe, and South America, bringing expertise to initiatives with global implications.
- Ensure all design documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with industry standards.
- Bachelor's/Technology degree in Mechanical Design or a related field.
- Preferably over ten years of experience in mechanical design, specifically with bulk material handling equipment in the mining industry.
- Expertise in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, with strong skills in mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in supporting equipment breakdowns, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively under time constraints.
- Extensive knowledge of BMH equipment design and operation, including Apron Feeders, Belt Feeders, Rotary Car Dumpers, Conveyor Belts, and related machinery.
- Skilled at working in a global environment, with experience collaborating across cultures and regions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a hands-on approach to overcoming complex design challenges.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptable and proactive, comfortable in a fast-paced setting, and committed to continuous learning and cross-functional collaboration.
