  • Perform site maintenance including identifying and prioritizing work, and purchasing
supplies and materials, Routinely inspect the buildings, vehicles, equipment, grounds, and facilities. Identify areas that require maintenance, repair, and improvement. * Perform snow removal, asphalt patching, and blading of gravel roads. Clean and sanitize 17 vault restrooms, and the office and shower house flush toilet areas. including assisting the septic pumper service with removing trash from the vaults.
  • Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of 12 septic systems.
  • Plant and maintain trees. Perform lawn care and landscaping.
  • Repair and service equipment, facilities, and vehicles.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure the trailer dump stations are in operating condition and sewer lines are clear.
  • Perform weed control.
  • Perform carpentry work, welding/ fabrication, mowing, irrigation, painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Perform landscaping and janitorial duties.
  • Assist with annual building inspections and traffic counters.
  • Maintain potable water distribution systems and 6 water wells including sprinkler and bubbler irrigation systems winterization and start-up.
  • Obtain and maintain level 1 drinking water certification.
  • Assist in monitoring free chlorine levels and making adjustments to maintain a safe mg/I residual.
  • Perform, monitor, mix, and safely handle hazardous chemicals for the water system.
  • Collect water samples for bacteriological and chlorine residuals and ship samples to the lab in a timely manner. Properly complete the required paperwork.
  • Repair any broken water lines, chemical pumps, and hydrants.
  • Assist in changing pumps in wells for all water well systems as needed. Check and maintain the 2 domestic potable water systems to make sure they are operating properly and that the water is safe to drink.
  • Assist with sanitary surveys and correct findings in a timely manner.
  • Monitor, maintain, and repair water systems' chlorination pumps and adjust solutions for safe drinking water.
  • Complete monthly purchasing card reports, gas logs, traffic counter data, and vehicle information.
  • Monitor the septic tank.
  • Complete time sheets in a timely manner
  • Assist with fee collection accurately and timely.
  • Assist with the reservation system.
  • Conduct the sale of park permits and ORV permits while completing the necessary paperwork.
  • Respond promptly to emails and inquiries
  • Monitor the web weather station, reservoir levels, and boat docks.
  • Assist with compiling inventories of park property and supplies and determining park needs for budgetary purposes. A
  • Assist with the reading and data reporting of 9 traffic counters and ensure they are operating properly.
  • Assist Park Rangers by reporting vandalism.
  • Assist with the hire of seasonal employees and in the direction of their work duties.
  • Assist with events in the park.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public and other staff members.
  • Respond to public safety emergencies, providing search and rescue if necessary.
QualificationsPREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:Preference may be given to applicants with 2 or more years of buildings and grounds experience.
  • Must obtain the following certifications within one year of hire:
  • Level 1 Water Distribution
  • Weed and Pest Commercial Applicator
  • First Aid/CPR
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, heavy equipment, and tools.
  • Knowledge of hazmat laws and regulations; commercial pesticide application.
  • Basic skills in carpentry, construction, plumbing, welding, fabrication, electrical, landscaping, and building and grounds maintenance.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Associate's DegreeExperience:0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in parks maintenance)OREducation & Experience Substitution:2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in parks maintenance)Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:NoneNecessary Special RequirementsPHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
