The ECSE Community and Family Support Teacher plays a vital role in supporting the success of students in community consult placements. This role involves providing training, coaching, and ongoing support to community consult teachers, community providers with a focus on implementing best practices, evidence-based interventions, and individualized strategies to meet student needs in their first placement.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide targeted training to community consult teachers, staff and providers on instructional strategies, developmental interventions, and best practices.
- Facilitate workshops, coaching sessions, and professional learning communities (PLCs) to build teacher capacity.
- Serve as a resource and support system for community consult teachers by offering ongoing guidance, ideas, and intervention strategies.
- Assist in identifying and implementing appropriate accommodations and modifications based on student needs.
- Partner with community placement providers to support successful transitions for students entering their first educational environment.
- Guide community partners in implementing interventions and understanding student needs, especially for children with developmental delays or disabilities
- Provide timely responses to questions or concerns from teachers and community partners regarding student placements, interventions, or resources.
- Advocate for inclusive and supportive learning environments that promote student development and early success.
- Strong communication skills
- Classroom and community experience
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of due process
Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education desirable.
Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.Commitment to Equity:
