With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303
Under limited supervision of the School Based Services (SBS) Coordinator, employee will perform direct SBS by providing therapeutic intervention with youth at risk for social, emotional, behavioral, and/or academic difficulties in designed Spartanburg County Schools. Increase collaborative efforts between SAMHC, the School Districts, and Community organizations, involving all in the implementation process. Provides services in a culturally sensitive manner. Assists SBS Coordinator with the task of increasing public awareness and appropriate utilization of SBS.
  • Provides Assessment, Individual, Group, and Family Therapy services.
  • Provides consultation, education, and prevention strategies to families, school personnel, etc. relating to community mental health issues.
State Minimum Requirements:
A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences, or a related field.
