
Research Scientist/Instructor Full time- Neurosurgery Research Lab

- Works independently, following established policies and procedures, and performs investigative research in areas related to biomedical research.
- Assists in the development of new methodologies and prepares material for incorporation into publications or for use in laboratory procedures.
- Develops and tests hypotheses.
- Conducts experiments using various methodologies, including the collection and analysis of data.
- May act as project leader and resource person for personnel or laboratory related matters.
- Is responsible for initiating and writing scientific manuscripts for publication.
- May assist or be responsible for preparing and submitting grant applications to external peer review agencies.
- A professional level of knowledge comparable to that which is acquired through obtaining a Ph.D., M.D., D.O., D.D.S., or equivalent degree.
- A minimum of one year of research experience.
- Research experience acquired while obtaining a PhD or advanced degree meets this requirement.
- Training/experience appropriate to meet the job-specific preferences as required by the hiring department.
- Requires a proven working knowledge of various research methodologies.
- Familiarity with computer programming and statistics may be helpful.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate complex equipment.
