- Ultimately responsible for the proper completion of projects under their supervision, done on schedule, on budget and to the customer's requirements.
- Structures the launching of new projects, evaluates the risks, sets financial objectives and the executing strategy, and implements an efficient internal and external communication plan.
- Responsible for defining a technical strategy and a supply plan in collaboration with the Project Engineer and the Procurement Department
- With all the other departments involved, develops the general and detailed planning and coordination of all the activities required to meet established contractual and financial objectives
- Ensures follow-up and compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications, quality and health & safety standards from Engineering, Procurement and at Site, as well as the timely performance of all activities related to each project under his/her supervision
- Supports the Director of Operations and Engineering in commercial and contract management.
- Assists with large capital project development, including feasibility studies, project scope definitions, preliminary engineering designs, and capital cost estimates.
- Organizes team meetings periodically, prepares the minutes and defines the actions for the team during the execution of the project
- In collaboration with the Commercial Project Manager, analyzes and prepares all the documentation related to the monthly project review with management
- Performs a risk & opportunity evaluation and details the possible financial variances with regard to the established objectives while suggesting a contingency plan to correct any potential situation
- In collaboration with the Commercial Project Manager and Project Engineer, analyzes, defines and implements a contingency plan to correct any failure or inadequacy that can have a direct impact on the results of the project (costs, deadlines, quality…)
- With the support of the project team, prepares and negotiates customer claims
- With the support of the project team, evaluates and negotiates supplier claims
- Ensures the proper completion of a project once activities are completed
- Remains responsible for the project until the end of the warranty period of the project.
- Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the field of project management in heavy industry projects, with practical experience in the Air Quality Control industry a plus
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering a plus
- Proven experience and accomplishments related to the efficient management of projects with an inherent complexity and an accelerated schedule
- Proficient with Microsoft software, including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and TEAMS.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Autocad
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English)
- Legally entitled to work in the USA
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).
- PMP Certificate a plus
- Ability to manage several projects in different phases at one time.
- Ability to create strong effective teams and create sense of urgency as required
- Willingness to work in cultural and geographic diverse teams
- Willing to put in extra time when needed
