The Windows Administrator plays a key role within the Enterprise Infrastructure Practice by operating and maintaining x86/x64 architectures and workloads. This role involves designing new or complementary solutions for future environments, implementing solutions, and troubleshooting health or performance issues during operations. The Administrator will participate in system assessments and documentation of workloads across on-premises and public cloud Windows environments. You will be responsible for system patching, administrative OS tasks, evaluating physical/virtual/cloud replacement options, and leading troubleshooting efforts during transformation projects. Additionally, you will analyze system requirements and dependencies to support business needs.Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers on data center maintenance activities and document Windows systems and workloads.
- Manage workload integration projects independently.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, account teams, and Datacenter Towers to communicate complex technical concepts.
- Work with vendors and contractors to define detailed technical requirements.
- Conduct interviews with application owners and business users to identify system functions and network dependencies.
- Execute discovery activities to document the existing Windows server inventory.
- Partner with the Datacenter Server Tower to develop and implement transformation solutions.
- Consult on complex business and design challenges.
- Identify and document system requirements to ensure reliable and predictable Windows system availability.
- Participate in developing and executing user acceptance test plans.
- Create and maintain documentation and processes to refine and optimize network functions.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional IT experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on Windows administration experience, including client and server OS management.
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Client and Server operating systems, including local/network installation, TCP/IP, DHCP, Device Manager, Registry Editor, User Manager, and admin commands.
- In-depth understanding of distributed networks.
- Experience managing SSL certificates.
- Proficient in Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and Windows Server Management.
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) support in AWS and Azure.
- Expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), user and group management.
- Knowledge of LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and IIS.
- Exchange Server management including recipient and distribution list management.
- PowerShell scripting for automation and task management.
- Manage system backup and restoration tasks.
- Understanding of web services and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Familiarity with security protocols and security management.
- PowerShell scripting and custom module development.
- Python programming skills.
- Familiarity with UNIX shell scripting (Shell, Bash, Korn).
- VBScript.
- SQL coding and scripting.
- Ability to analyze, debug, and troubleshoot code.
- Experience with C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and Visual Basic development.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage projects independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
