Long Term ProjectKey Responsibilities:
Architecture Review & Optimization
- Assess the current Snowflake-based data platform architecture.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in data transformation and processing.
- Recommend architectural improvements for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct detailed reviews of DBT models, SnowSQL scripts, and transformation logic.
- Validate adherence to best practices in modularity, reusability, and performance tuning.
- Suggest improvements for query optimization and resource utilization.
- Analyze slow-running queries and transformation pipelines.
- Implement strategies for warehouse sizing, clustering, caching, and materialization.
- Guide the team on Snowflake-specific performance features (e.g., result caching, automatic clustering).
- Establish coding standards and naming conventions for DBT and SnowSQL.
- Define data governance, lineage, and documentation practices.
- Recommend monitoring and alerting mechanisms for data pipeline health.
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams.
- Mentor junior developers on Snowflake and DBT development.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer in Snowflake and other Cloud DB environments.
Familiarity with Oracle Exadata and PL/SQL is a plus for comparative analysis.
10+ years experience in data modeling ( logical and physical ), ETL/ELT design, and designing and implementing data warehouse , performance tuning and optimization.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and deployment automation. * Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.Preferred Qualifications:
- Snowflake Architect Certification , DBT Certification.
- Experience in banking or financial services data platforms.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
