
Manager Planning (Engineering)

- Formulates feedstock blends that maximize profit within the constraints of available tankage, unit production rates, and marketing demands.
- Monitors, maintains and communicates to all affected parties properties of incoming feedstocks (crude, VGO, resids, etc.), of gasoline / distillate production requirements, and of asphalt requirements.
- Collaborates with the other regional Optimization Managers/Planners and investigates Supply and Marketing inquiries for crudes, feedstocks, products and tankage allocation/segregation for both incoming and outgoing barrels.
- Monitors, advises and troubleshoots problems with logistical operations on both the crude/feedstock side and the product side and assists with developing demurrage minimization strategies on both ends of the business.
- Generates monthly volume and price reconciliation reports to assist upper management in understanding Business Unit performance.
- Assists in the economic analysis of various capital projects and optimizations with the Technology, Planning, and Development Departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
- 10 years refining industry experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
- MBA is preferred
- More than 1 year experience in Refinery Planning and Economics is preferred.
- More than 4 years of experience in Process Engineering is preferred.
- More than 2 years of management or supervisor experience is preferred.
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
