Job Description:OverviewWilliam Charles Electric is hiring Field Engineers to support our Power Delivery team in the Midwest. The Field Engineer will provide support to the Project Manager and Construction Manager on various projects. General responsibilities include implementation of the project specific Quality Plan, site specific plans, material inventory and receiving.Location & Travel: You can be based in any city or state in the United States. This is a traveling position encompassing work sites in the Midwest. Must be capable of up to 75% travel (e.g. 3 weeks or 15 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. We offer designated per diem in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses during the travel rotation. Responsibilities
  • Performs field survey work in regards to layout and tracking of work activities, utilizing PC based software and GPS station/field equipment
  • Manages project specific quality control records and ensuring that required reporting is accomplished
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating to ensure that all required audits/inspections are performed and documented
  • Assist with material inventory and receiving paperwork
  • Assist with final job closeout, as-builts, job binder creation
  • Assist with subcontractor scheduling and management
  • Will provide other duties as assigned
  • Assist with RFI (Request for Information) submittals
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (construction management, civil engineering or equivalent) preferred
  • Previous construction experience desired
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Strong blue print reading/interpretation skills
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software packages quickly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suites program
  • Strong communication skills. Verbal and written
  • Familiarity with GPS and Surveying Equipment
  • Process driven with a strong attention to details
  • Customer focused
  • Preferred experience with some or all of this software: ProCore, E-builder, View Point, Build to Win
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status)
