- Assisting residents with positioning, transferring and ambulation; ensuring a safe and secure work environment, including preventative infection control methods.
- Responding to call lights, internal and external emergencies, and facility codes.
- Recording care, vital signs and observations.
- Assisting residents with personal clothing, belongings and equipment; bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, etc.
- Assisting with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel; motion exercises as needed.
- Accurately obtaining, recording vital signs and other resident data; documenting intake/output records.
- Performing basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotions, collecting specimens, etc.
- Current and valid Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Current active status on OBRA (Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) check.
- Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. frequently using proper techniques, capable of reaching for activities such as repositioning or to gain access to supplies, and is capable of pushing or pulling with sufficient strength. Employee must be able to walk, sit, and bend in an unrestricted manner on a consistent basis during the entire work day.
- Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
- Must have the ability to speak, read and write in the English language for medical charts.
- Ability to perform data entry.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to provide a positive living environment for residents relating to meeting psychosocial needs; follow written and verbal directions; document and report observed changes in patient condition and behavior.
- Current, valid Washington State registration to practice as a nursing assistant registered.
- Must be able to obtain a Nursing Assistant Certified credential and active OBRA status within 4 months of hire.
- Accurate methods and practices to assist residents with activities of daily care, personal hygiene, sanitation methods, record keeping, reporting changes, infection control procedures and residents rights.

- Prior to a new hire, a background check, including criminal record history, will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
- Must comply with health screening requirements by undergoing a tuberculosis skin test and remain current in CPR.
- Positions requiring travel must have a valid unrestricted driver's license and must be insured if driving a privately owned vehicle on state business.
- This position is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment as identified through a job hazard analyses and PPE assessment.
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs. and reach/pull with sufficient strength.
