- Supervises and provides direction to Airport Operations Representatives II (Airside) and/or Airport Operations Representatives I (Cargo) to ensure FAR Part 139 compliance.
- Delegates special job assignments to Airport Operations Representatives II (Airside) and/or Airport Operations Representative I (Cargo) on a case-by-case basis.
- Evaluates emergency or unusual conditions occurring on shift and recalls additional personnel if necessary.
- Develops and modifies work schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage.
- Plans, coordinates, and delegates daily routine duties.
- Responds to all airfield emergencies and assists within the Airport's Incident Command Structure.
- Responsible for decisions that stabilize the situation, affect life safety and preserve property.
- Determines recovery efforts and activities to return the Airport back to normal operations. Notifies management and affected departments of incidents that affect the normal operation of the airport.
- Develop, implement, and update SOPs for direct reports.
- Determines training needs for direct reports. Provides on-the-job, classroom and team training opportunities.
- Ensures direct reports complete required training.
- Assists in completing the goals of the Airport Certification Group within Airside Operations.
- Assists upper-level management with developing budgets, business plans, standard operating procedures, and compiling various forms of data.
- Communicates daily with air carriers, project teams, DOA departments, and other airport stakeholders. Ensures Operations Management is kept apprised of significant events occurring during the shift.
- Disseminates new policies, procedures, etc., to personnel on respective shift.
- Apprise appropriate division managers or supervisors of any unusual occurrences that may affect their operation.
- Attends and participates in weekly Home Team meetings, which may occur during non-scheduled hours.
- Conducts weekly Home Team meetings with direct reports, ensuring time sensitive information is disseminated.
- Communicates effectively and exchanges information in a professional and positive manner with customers, tenants, airport employees and other staff members. Ensures correspondence with external and internal agencies is completed in a timely manner.
- Reviews and approves daily reports, work orders and inspection forms for accuracy.
- Attends airport safety-related meetings and seminars as necessary.
- Keeps abreast of all FAA, state, local and DOA regulations, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Ensures the Department SOPs remain current at all times.
- Ensures that accurate and complete records of all incidents occurring on each shift are maintained.
- Ensures daily airfield inspections are conducted and properly documented to validate airport and airfield compliance with FAA FAR Part 139 and other governmental agencies laws and regulations.
