This leader will oversee program design and implementation, cultivate partnerships with backbone agencies and funders that support networks of service providers, and drive business development to secure sustainable, multi-year investment. By bridging strategy and execution, the Associate Director will ensure Connective's Blue-Sky portfolio strengthens the social service ecosystem, builds community resilience, and delivers lasting impact.About ConnectiveConnective is a growing, Houston-based civic technology, design, and collective action nonprofit.   • Programmatic Direction: Collaborate with organizational leadership to shape the Resource Navigation portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with Connective's mission and translating big-picture goals into clear projects, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management: Build and sustain relationships with government, philanthropic, and nonprofit partners to advance Connective efforts and align around shared goals. Lead collective action and change processes to drive adoption of new strategies, technologies, and systems across Connective and its collaboratives.
  • Program Design and Implementation: Lead the design and execution of human-centered social service programs that meet community needs while achieving programmatic excellence. Oversee and hold accountability for the successful delivery of projects, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and addressing challenges
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement and oversee performance measurement tools and systems to track and report on program outcomes, impact, and ROI.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion and instigate ongoing improvements to programs based on feedback, data-driven insights, and emerging best practices.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the resource navigation portfolio budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and that financial targets are met.
  • Personnel Management: Manage program managers, associates, and/or contracted vendors fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Support Business Development & Fundraising: Support organizational leadership in cultivating new opportunities by identifying and pursuing strategic partnerships, program innovations and supporting funding proposals that expand Connective's impact and ensure long-term sustainability.

Your Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in program management, project delivery, design strategy, or related roles- ideally within mission-driven or nonprofit environments.
  • Proven ability to design and manage programs with significant CRM, data, or other technology components across their full lifecycle, from planning and execution to performance tracking.
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders and building cross-sector partnerships that drive collective action.
  • Experience contributing to fundraising, business development, or partnership efforts to meet organizational goals.
  • Preferred: Background in social services, human services, disaster recovery, or housing/resilience sectors, and/or familiarity with collaborative initiatives or backbone/intermediary roles.
Your Compensation and BenefitsYour annual base salary range for this role is $95,000-$110,000. Annual bonuses are offered based on your contributions and performance.You'll receive a 401(k) employer match of up to 6%.On day one, you'll have access to quality, affordable health insurance coverage (includes medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance). You can also choose to participate in an HSA or FSA.You'll be encouraged to prioritize your work life balance and will receive 20 days of PTO/floating holidays, plus 11 paid company holidays, per calendar year.If you have or adopt a child, you'll be entitled to 8 weeks of parental leave at 100 percent of the employee's regular weekly pay, and an additional 4 weeks at 50 percent. 4 additional weeks may be taken without pay.You'll have access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which includes mental health and legal resources for you and family members, even if they're not your dependents.You'll join a Houston-based, local remote team that offers both flexibility and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and partners. You are welcome to work from anywhere for a week at a time while maintaining Houston working hours.
