This role involves the daily care and maintenance of poultry, ensuring a clean, safe, and productive environment for the chickens. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a farm setting and committed to animal welfare and biosecurity standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Feed and water chickens according to established schedules and procedures Monitor flock health and report any signs of illness or abnormal behavior Clean and disinfect poultry houses, equipment, and surrounding areas Collect eggs (if applicable) and ensure proper handling and storage Assist with loading and unloading birds for transport Maintain accurate records of feed usage, mortality, and production Follow all biosecurity and safety protocols. Monitor the vaccination crew and mix up vaccine for birds. Provide support to the vaccination crew to ensure vaccination process is being applied correctly and perform vaccination audits and checks during the process to ensure consistency in performance. Perform minor repairs and maintenance on farm equipment and facilities Support other farm operations as needed.Education:High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous farm or animal care experience is a plus, but not required.Work Experience:Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player.Special Job Competencies:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or greater, Must be able to pass MVR non DOT driver checkStanding, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting for extended periods Exposure to dust, feathers, and farm odors.
