Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm with on-call responsibilitiesAbout the Opportunity:We are seeking a dynamic Superintendent, Electrical Maintenance & Engineering to lead our team of electrical engineering professionals, providing expert advice and support to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of our operational plans.What You’ll Be Doing – Building a Zero Harm Commitment:
- Design and Organize: Develop an effective asset management function that aligns people, processes, systems, technology, measures, and benchmarks.
- Lead and Manage: Oversee teams and resources, setting role and competency requirements to meet strategic objectives and plans.
- Collaborate: Work with product groups, business units, and sites to share learnings and support replication opportunities.
- Prioritize Safety: Establish safety as the key priority for all operational strategies, policies, and processes.
- Model Safety Discipline: Ensure rigorous safety practices through proactive behaviors and clear expectations for all employees and contractors.
- Maximize Efficiency: Drive significant cost reductions and establish rigorous cost discipline to maximize free cash flow.
- Achieve Operational Excellence: Safeguard turnaround objectives in mining, smelting, refining, and rail operations.
- Communicate Effectively: Provide clear performance updates to leaders and key stakeholders, proposing solutions to challenges and initiatives to seize opportunities.
- Identify Improvements: Direct improvement opportunities within electrical asset systems and processes.
- Manage Resources: Plan and manage budget and resources for electrical systems at the Smelter and Refinery to ensure asset health over a 2-5 year outlook.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work effectively with multiple departments to ensure electrical standards are followed.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or licensed Electrician in a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience managing professionals in the field of expertise.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage a team of electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Compliance: Experience ensuring site compliance with electrical engineering standards and regularly reviewing these standards.
- Project Management: Expertise in overseeing electrical engineering projects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-standard completion.
- Leadership: Ability to lead a team of professionals to safely and productively deliver department objectives.
