ER RN Job Details Wausau, WI
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,030 - $2,180 per week
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (locum tenens contract)
- Start Date: October 13, 2025
- Location: Emergency Department, Wausau, Wisconsin
- Shifts: 12-hour nights (5:00 PM 5:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Float Requirements: May float to Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley
- On Call/Call Back: 12 hours in a 6-week period, 30-minute response time
- Unit: Trauma Level II, 18 beds, 3-4 patients per nurse
- Active Wisconsin RN License (required for all Wisconsin nursing jobs)
- BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of travel nurse experience
- Trauma Level II emergency nursing experience required
- Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Ability to float to other healthcare facilities as needed
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to manage change in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, including cardiac, neuro, pediatric, geriatric, and respiratory cases
- Manage 3-4 patients per shift in a busy Trauma Level II Emergency Department
- Draw labs, administer nebulizer treatments, and utilize Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Collaborate with in-house respiratory therapy and radiology staff
- Document all patient care using EPIC electronic health records
- Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
- Float to other designated healthcare locations as required
- Respond promptly to on-call and call back requirements within 30 minutes
