Clinical Resource NurseReports To: Clinic Manager Status: Non-ExemptLocation: Crook County Medical Services District ClinicsPOSITION SUMMARY
The Clinic Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations and providing direct patient care within the clinic setting. This role serves as a key clinical leader, supporting nursing staff with patient care coordination, prioritizing workflow, and addressing complex clinical situations. The Charge Nurse ensures staff adherence to clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements while fostering a collaborative and efficient care environment. This position works closely with providers and clinic leadership to support high-quality, patient-centered care.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and requirements include the following (Other duties may be assigned):Provide direct patient care, including assessments, treatments, and patient education across a range of clinical needs. * Serve as a clinical resource for staff, offering support with complex cases and ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and patient safety standards.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations, helping to coordinate staff assignments, patient flow, and prioritization of care.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement efforts to enhance care delivery and promote best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including infection control and safety protocols.
  • Support inventory management by assisting with the ordering, receiving, and appropriate storage of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure proper functioning and use of clinical equipment, including monitoring and addressing any issues that could impact patient care or safety.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in patient records and contribute to proper reporting in alignment with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate regularly with external partners or agencies as needed to stay informed on clinical guidelines, protocols, and updates.
  • Support the orientation and ongoing training of clinical staff, including coaching on workflow processes, safety practices, and documentation standards.
  • Assist in ensuring all programs and operations meet state and federal requirements relevant to clinic services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by clinic leadership.

NoneQUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Wyoming.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Certification in vaccine management or immunization training is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience in inventory management, vaccine handling, or a role involving immunization programs is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong clinical skills in nursing care and vaccine administration.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management, record-keeping, and vaccine documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and education to patients, caregivers and clinic staff.
  • Familiarity with CDC guidelines, vaccine schedules, and public health regulations related to immunizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment.
TRAVEL
May travel to continuing education workshops and/or fill in at other Departments and Clinics as needed.
