- Oversees adherence to editorial process and provides a communication link between editorial and other departments.
- Manages specific ACC Docket columns, working with authors on idea generation and edits.
- Solicits content from ACC members and in-house counsel, vetting proposed articles and other resources.
- Writes articles to cover breaking news relevant to ACC’s membership.
- Optimizes articles for SEO and accessibility.
- Conducts research on any given topic.
- “Articles” could also take the form of blogs, e-books, case studies, video scripts, infographics, and other assets.
- Distills complex concepts and language into content that is easily understood.
- Part of a cross-functional team, along with members from legal resources, education, and research departments, that schedules ACC topics to ensure collaboration across the organization.
- Identifies gaps in content by staying updated on industry trends and recommends new topics as needed.
- Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging, branding, and style.
- Works with stakeholders to build editorial calendar.
- Creates and schedules posts for multiple social media channels.
- Copyedits and posts articles via a content management system (CMS) to the Docketsite and selects accompanying artwork.
- Edits content to ensure voice and grammar reflect ACC’s house style.
- Conducts interviews with members, C-suite executives, and industry stakeholders, including on camera interviews
- Manages ACC’s Top 10 30-Something program, including marketing, fielding inquiries via
- Reviews analytics and tracks reader metrics.
- At least 3-4 years of experience writing for and editing publications, with strong interviewing, copyediting, and proofreading skills.
- Experience in the legal profession or work on previous law publications is a plus, as is knowledge of Drupal/CMS, Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, Photoshop, and other multimedia tools.
- International experience, including working on non-US based publications, work/study outside the United States, the ability to communicate with international audiences is also a plus.
- Has strong editing, writing, art design, proofreading, multitasking, communication, and project management skills.
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and provides appropriate follow-through on requests and tasks.
- Is able to work independently in a reliable manner such as finalizing any part of their section of publications, consulting with and keeping the supervisor apprised, as appropriate, but with minimal supervision.
- Has a high level of energy with strong attention to stakeholder needs and a consistent professional “Can Do” attitude.
- Actively, affirmatively, creatively, and independently resolves problems (including anticipating problems). Having chosen an appropriate course of action after careful deliberation of alternatives and the pros and cons of each — moves forward with implementing said course.

- The flexibility of a hybrid schedule (only two days in the office on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) and remaining days you can work from home.
