- Support (Lead as required) hands-on integration and/or testing of avionics control systems.
- Lead NGDS training & tasking of other team members in support of successful transition to production.
- Supporting live fire static testing and flight test events.
- Creating digital/physical mockups of tools and testing bays.
- Developing/maintaining procedures.
- Incorporating software/hardware/tooling design changes.
- Developing/planning/coordinating integration and/or test activities.
- Documenting/dispositioning hardware discrepancies.
- Ensure NGDS/NGMS collaborative assessment of producibility and testability concepts into early design phases.
- Providing avionics operation support for testing.
- Providing training for technician personnel and customer community to operate avionics and ground support equipment as programs transition to production phases.
- Providing training for technician personnel and vendors to perform environmental acceptance testing on control system hardware.
- Analyzing control system performance data using MATLAB.
- Modeling control system performance using MATLAB/SIMULINK
- Support program reviews as an engineering review authority and assist in resolution of program engineering challenges (technical, financial, and staffing).
- Maintain awareness over technical activities within and across contract for hardware integration, transition to production, testing, and verification/validation activities.
- Support new and follow-on business pursuits for the developing Motion Controls catalogue, providing technical liaison for new customers and engineering team.
- Must have a Bachelors degree in STEM plus at least 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and at least 3 years of experience. Degrees in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
- Candidate must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance.
- Candidate must possess or can obtain a U.S. Passport for travel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to large customer community.
- Ability to solve problems, support troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completion.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and multi-task.
- Ability to work in a team environment and lead small projects or teams.
- Ability to travel: Travel expectation 50%
- Will be expected to provide on-site support to NGMS SLC, NGSS Bacchus, and NGSS Promontory, and NGDS Elkton.
- Experience with aerospace standards/guidelines
- Experience with external customer interfacing including meetings & presentations.
- Experience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems.
- Knowledge and experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
- Experience working with design, integration, or testing of SRM control systems.
- Experience leading/training other engineers and/or team members.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and experience.
- CAM certification and/or experience including EV training.
- PRB/MRB Training
- Experience with Root Cause analysis and troubleshooting
- Extensive experience with aerospace standards/guidelines for Environmental Stress Screening and Acceptance Testing of Moving Mechanical Assemblies
- Possess a current Secret Clearance
